Sandra K. Ferguson, B.A.

Chief Financial Officer
Sandra Ferguson joined the Lyn-CAG family fifteen (15) years ago as the Fiscal Specialist for the Head Start Program. Prior to her employment with Lyn-CAG, she worked as a Staff Accountant for First Colony Life Insurance Company. In 2007, Sandra became the agency’s Chief Financial Officer with the responsibility of supervising the Finance and Human Resources Department, as well as, the agency’s Head Start Finance and HR Department.
Sandra is a member of WIPFLI – an organization that serves to assist professionals who work in non-profit and government. She is also affiliated with Region 2000’s Human Resource Organization. She works closely with the agency’s Board of Directors and the Head Start Policy Council. Sandra received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Lynchburg College.

Allethia J. Ingram, M. Ed.

Director of Planning and Development
5-CAP Coalition Coordinator
Allethia “Lea” Ingram brings to Lyn-CAG a broad range of education and employment experiences in the areas of administration, public relations, development, strategic planning and grant writing. Before joining Lyn-CAG, Lea’s eighteen-year tenure as Associate Vice President for Institutional Change and Development at Lynchburg College provided her with a plethora of expertise and contacts which have served to enhance her multifaceted, high energy level approach and quality of work.

As Lyn-CAG’s Director of Planning & Development, she is responsible for grant research and writing, marketing initiatives and special projects. She serves as a liaison between local, state, federal and foundation partners. Lea is Coordinator of a 5-CAP Coalition designing and facilitating Board and Staff training opportunities; as well as, working with the Virginia Association of Community Action Partners in serving as Coordinator of Planners for state conferences.

Two of her greatest achievements at Lyn-CAG have been exhibited through her talents as a special event coordinator in providing leadership for The Annual Pete Warren Memorial Golf Tournament and the agency’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. She spends a great deal of her time participating on community boards and special committees. Lea has a B.A. in English and a M. Ed. from Lynchburg College. She has completed post graduate studies at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. There is always something good cooking in her kitchen as she is the “unofficial agency caterer!”

Dorothy S. Holmes

Director of Head Start Program
Dorothy Holmes has been employed with Head Start for 42 years. She started in the Head Start program as a working parent and was President of the Lyn-CAG Head Start Policy Council. Her employment with the agency started as the Parent Involvement Coordinator; was promoted to Social Services/Parent Engagement Specialist, and for the last three years has assumed the responsibilities as Head Start Director.

In the community, she has served as the President of the Johnson Health Center Board of Directors and she is still active on the JHC Board. For six years, she has been a City Council appointee on the Department of Social Services Advisory Board and presently participates on the Youth Services Board. Other civic activities include being a CASA volunteer, a member of the E. C. Glass Boosters, an advocate for Smart Beginnings and currently she is a member of the Virginia Head Start Association Regional III Board. She also serves as an active member of her church where she holds positions as the Christian Education Director, teaches Sunday School, an usher, and the church secretary/clerk. She also serves as the Executive Chairperson for the Church School Union of Lynchburg and Vicinities. As the chairperson she organizes an Annual Education Workshop at Lynchburg College for over 300 participants that include Clergy and laymen.

Dorothy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Lynchburg College and her Master’s degree in Religious Education from Eastern Theological Seminary. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and designing all occasion cards.

Faye J. Hicks

Director of Center for Employment Training Department Administrator | Virginia Cares Program
Faye Hicks joined the agency ten years ago as the Program Manager of the Center for Employment Training, an initiative funded by state. It only takes a few moments to be with Faye and to watch her in action as she interacts with current and former clients and students to realize the impact that she has made in their lives. Not only can she call them by name, she relates to their family circumstance and is genuinely interested in their status and well-being.

She is a dedicated employee who serves as a plethora of information and resources for not only Lyn-CAG but various agencies and organizations within the Central Virginia area. She has exhibited expertise in the additional roles that she plays at the agency: Administrative Supervisor for the Virginia Cares Program; Certified Housing Counselor for the agency’s Housing Counseling Services Department and Program Manager of the Family Living Center (a transitional housing program). Her eighteen years of management experience from previous employment, commitment and vision have earned her a promotion as Director.
Faye is the epitome of charisma, high energy, compassion and a zest for life. The 2014 recipient of the United Way of Central Virginia’s Nancy Sorrell Award enjoys decorating, landscaping, singing and being “Nana” to twelve amazing grandchildren.

Denise M. Crews

Director of Housing and Community Development | Central Virginia Continuum of Care Lead Contact
Denise Crews is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia and has over 16 years of experience in the Mortgage Banking, Financial Services and Housing Development industry. Denise is employed at the Lynchburg Community Action Group, Inc. as a Director of Housing and Community Development. In her role at Lyn-CAG, she develops and implements housing initiatives for the planning District, working with local governments, housing authorities, non-profit organizations, community groups and faith-based organizations. She currently serves on several housing advisory committees and governing boards.

She is a Virginia Housing Development Authority Certified Homebuyer Education Trainer and Facilitator. Denise also lends her areas of expertise to the agency’s Housing Counseling Services Department as a Virginia Association of Housing Counselors Certified Comprehensive Housing Counselor. Denise received her B. A. from the University of Virginia.

Melissa R. Yuille

Director of Housing Counseling Services Department
Melissa Yuille is Director of the agency’s Housing Counseling Services Department. Under her leadership, the objectives of this Department are to expand homeownership opportunities; provide improved access to affordable housing and assist clients who are facing homelessness. In this capacity she provides Central Virginia communities with information regarding tenant rights and responsibilities, fair housing, foreclosure prevention, financial literacy, and homeownership education.

Previously, she has worked for the City of Lynchburg’s Community Planning and Development Inspections Division. After her tenure with the City, she served as Program Manager and Housing Counselor for the Lynchburg Neighborhood Development Foundation where she oversaw the Down Payment Assistance and Affordable Housing Programs.

Melissa is a certified comprehensive housing counselor through the Virginia Association of Housing Counselors and the National Federation of Housing Counselors. She has been in the housing industry for twenty-three (23) years. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Housing Counselors and the Central Virginia Continuum of Care. She was selected to serve on the Governor’s Taskforce for Foreclosure Intervention. Melissa was named Counselor of the Year by the VAHC in 2010. She currently serves on the Executive Board of The Appomattox County Long-Term Recovery Group. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Averett University.

Lisa S. Dibble

Director of Federal & State Resources & The Gateway Program
Lisa Dibble, a native of Lynchburg, attended Mary Baldwin College, pursuing a degree in Business Administration. She is active in the Lynchburg community serving as the Treasurer of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She also served as President of the Board of the Greater Lynchburg Transit Company for nine years and is immediate past president (2016) of the Woman’s Club of Lynchburg.

Ms. Dibble has a broad background in for-profit business prior to joining Lyn-CAG where she served for five and one half years as Assistant Controller, Program Manager and lastly as Planning & Development Manager, before leaving to become the Executive Director of The Gateway House, Inc., a small non-profit providing residential substance abuse treatment for homeless men. After eight years, she returned to Lyn-CAG when that agency merged under the Lyn-CAG umbrella. Her responsibilities include overseeing the general operation of The Gateway, grant research and writing, special events, direct mail and major gifts solicitation. She also oversaw the Agency’s 2016 Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan.

She is a Licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church, pastoring three churches in Huddleston, VA, in addition to her full-time Community Action job. In her spare time she enjoys travel, reading, foreign language, singing and writing.
